Once Bitten, Twice Shy

So after a conversation or two about Twilight I couldn't help but pick up a copy. When I mean pick it up I mean it in literal terms, I couldn't put the book down. I bought the book Thursday and I had all 498 pages read by Sunday night. All I could think about for four days was Edward and Bella and I read it whenever I could (in between packing, working, and hanging out with my Husband). So I did a little research on the internet, and it seems that I am not even close to being the only one that got hooked to the vampire book. There are websites for "Twilight Moms", "Twilight Teens", and even "A Guy Reads the Twilight Saga". I am ready for book number two, but based on all the things that have to get done this week in order to get ready for the big move...I think I should wait.

iChat

With Allison in Kenya for six months I was inspired to use iChat in order to better communicate with her rather than just doing the normal email or IM way of doing things. So last night Jonathan set me up with an AIM account, and he sat in the living room with his laptop while I was in the office practicing my iChat capabilities.

I know I am late to the game with this technology, but it is so incredible. I HATE the phone... now I want to talk everyone this way. I think I will call Jonathan and see what time he is coming home for lunch.

Mark Your Calendars: September 2nd

Set your DVR for September 2nd. That is the day that the new 90210 starts. I asked Allison if there were any shows she wouldn't be able to see while she was in Kenya and she would want me to record. She said the only one she was nervous about was 90210. And that is why we are friends.

If you have an inkling of interest I am sure there will be a viewing party at my (new) house.

She is just SO Major (May-jahr)!

I know I have talked about how much I love her before, and if you know me at all you know that it is true...I HEART Victoria Beckham. So much so that my exact words when I saw this magazine tonight were "You know I have to have this right?"

I used "have to" - like I as going to die if I didn't get to bring it home and read it. There was some push back, but Jonathan gave in. Now I love her even more.

My Life as a Musical

I can't get ABBA out of my head. I have been singing their songs, listening to them in the car and in my office for the past two days. And today Katie and I made up a choreographed dance with our rolling chairs to "S.O.S." - it involves handmade signs.

True Story

An actual conversation that took place in the car tonight on the way home from Target.

Ry: When you go to the fair tomorrow say hi to the baby pigs for me.
Jonathan: Do you talk to the baby pigs?
R: Yeah, of course.
J: Would you ever want a pig?
R: Yes.
J: You would love him just until he got big?
R: I would get a pot belly pig so it wouldn't get too big.
J: Once he got big we could just eat him.
R: NO! We don't eat our pets!
J: We do if they're delicious.

J: And if they go with biscuits and gravy.

I Heart Mama Mia

I know all the buzz this weekend was about The Dark Knight (which I saw and it was excellent), but there was another gem that I couldn't wait to see that also came out this weekend and that was Mama Mia. I caught it today with some of the girls, and I am pretty sure I smiled through every single part of it...unless of course I was singing along. There are a couple factors that made me know that it was going to be GREAT movie no matter what.

I HEART MUSICALS
Anytime someone breaks into song and dance my heart overflows with joy. If I know the words...wow! If I know the words AND the dance...well does it get any better than that?

I HEART ABBA.
I sing their songs in my car, in my office, while I am working out. I can't get enough of them - there music just makes you feel so good. I know for a fact if my life was made into a movie the soundtrack would have several ABBA songs on it.

I HEART GREECE.
OK...so I have never been there, but I love everything about it. The landscapes, the food, the people. I guarantee you I will go there someday.

I HEART AMANDA SEYFRIED.
She is basically in all of my favorite things: Mean Girls, Veronica Mars, and now Mama Mia. If she was in LOST my heart would explode.

I also really enjoyed Meryl Streep. I thought she did an excellent job. I am not quite at the pointing of LOVING her, but I do have a strong like for her between The Devil Wears Prada and Mama Mia.

Two Excellent Days Off

Having two days off in a row doesn't happen that often in my world, but this week it did. Both days off were perfect.

Monday: Day Off #1
Sleep until 1:00. Hang out with my husband in our house...all day long. Change out of pajamas into real clothes to walk to our car and drive-thru Wendy's. Watch TV, pack some stuff, mostly hang out. Make biscuits and gravy for dinner and eat at 9:00 pm. Empty my DVR, and go to sleep late.

Tuesday: Day Off #2
Wake up, get dressed, leave the house around 11:00 am and come home around 5:00 pm. Plenty of friend time and alone time. Eat lunch with some friends, go to HomeGoods by myself, watch a movie with some friends, hang out at home by myself until Jonathan gets home, eat dinner with some friends.

The perfect mix of doing nothing, and doing lots of things. I think I am refreshed and ready to go back to work.

We're on the Move

So after all of the craziness of...well...life...it is time to "move" onto the next thing. Which happens to be moving. We are moving about 0.9 miles away (I looked it up on Google Maps), and I swear it is much harder to move closer than it is further. I packed the DVD's to make room for the new TV, but until today I haven't packed one thing. So today I started to pack the things we won't need for the next two weeks. This included board games, cook books (three boxes full), and picture frames. Do you like packing or unpacking better? I think if I were unpacking I would be having SO much more fun.

Fairrhea

15 of us hit up the OC Fair last night, one of my most favorite things. I didn't go to overboard with eating. I ate Aussie Deep Fried Battered Potatoes and a Cinnamon Roll. I did have a couple bites of things as well... a Deep Fried PopTart and Grilled Corn. Jonathan ate a little bit more than me, and along the way something didn't agree with him. He stayed home sick with Fairrhea. My guess is the Deep Fried PopTart pushed him over the edge.

I really love the fair.

Oh yeah...and you can rest assured...I found plenty of baby animals to talk baby talk to. I am sure it was embarrassing for the other 14 people.

Making Emotional Decisions

Over the last month I have been learning a lot about when people make emotional decisions and how it effects others. Today I found a note that I wrote to myself on my phone, it is a quote from LOST that Ben said.
"Sometimes good command decisions get compromised by bad emotional responses."

I want to be a person known for following and giving good command decisions, and not a person known for making emotional decisions.

It's so hard to say goodbye...

Allison is leaving for Kenya , and she will be gone for six months. We have gone through her leaving before...but it doesn't matter...it is still hard. I have been trying to be the "strong" friend. I think I am doing a pretty good job. Sometimes though, being the strong friend means living in denial until that person is gone. I think I am in for a reality check on Wednesday.

I am exhausted.

Just Another Statistic

I read in a magazine yesterday that your desk at work is probably 600 times dirtier than the toilet seat in your office. Especially women, because they tend to put on make-up, eat, and do more "living life" things at their desk.

I am not really a germ person but right now I am at work eating my lunch at my desk...I just dropped a piece of avocado on my desk...I am sure that I am help making that statistic true...yuck!

2 Years in the Making

Two years ago I received a gift certificate to Burke Williams at one of my bridal showers. Every time we have a crazy time at work I talk about how I am going to make an appointment and use it. When that day finally comes around I am too tired to even leave my house.

So I made an appointment for this Monday at 11:00 am, because I decided the best time to go is really when I am rested and can enjoy it. I am so excited to just relax, and not talk.

Zero

Zero...that is how many inquiries we have had about our Craig's List post. Jana warned me that people aren't looking for oak items anymore...and I should tell people that is pine. But I was too lazy to change it, so it looks like Jonathan and Josh Treece will be destroying it however they please tonight.

I asked what Jonathan was going to use to destroy it, and he let me know that of course they would be using their "bare hands". Well that should make for an interesting night.

The First Three Boxes

Our TV started to die. So it is time to get the new TV we had been talking about buying. So in preparation for the new TV I packed up all of our DVDs. When I was looking for boxes Jaime and Josh asked how many we had.

We have 177 DVD's including The Witt Wedding Video and 7 Best of SNL's.

We also have 35 seasons of TV on DVD...which include but are not limited to: The OC (S 1 -4), Friends Season 1 (I found it still wrapped in the plastic I think it was a wedding gift), Veronica Mars(S 1 -3), MacGyver, Newlyweds, Heroes, That 70's Show, and Lost (S 1-3).

I filled three boxes, but I kept out a couple seasons of TV that we haven't watched yet. We need something to watch on our new TV!

It's official.

Today we signed the paperwork to vacate our apartment on August 11th. No turning back...we are moving. It is so exciting.

Oh man...now I have to start packing.
Here is a good example of life in the Witt Household lately...

Two weeks ago today we had a dinner for my team to celebrate the opening of our new building. Today I put the serving spoons from that event into the dishwasher.

That is a good sign that I am about two weeks behind in life. Don't worry I am almost caught up.
