I heart Fall...like REALLY heart it.

According to the calendar today is the first official day of Fall.
Yeah right! Tell that to Orange County.
It was 95 degrees when I got in my car to go to lunch today.

I don't care. I am still determined to have a Fantastic Fall.
I drank a Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning, and I am thinking that maybe I will have some soup for dinner.

And I have decided that on October 2nd the pumpkins and fall colors are coming out in my house no matter what the temperature is outside.

The Ryanne Show - On the Air. Unaware.

There are several times a week when I stop and look around and I think "Am I on the Truman Show?"

Well I guess it would be called The Ryanne Show.

Honestly, on a daily basis I find myself in a situation where I think "This can't be real life. Surely, this is a fake situation set up to see how I will react."

If there is such a thing as The Ryanne Show I am not sure how interesting it is. It is a lot of me talking to myself in my car, making lists, watching Reality TV, walking around Target, rolling my eyes when people aren't looking (don't worry - probably not you), walking around Vons, and laughing - by myself, to myself, with my husband, and with others.
I hope I have good ratings.

I heart Dancing

Things that make me happy.

Some students in our ministry made this video for last weekend's service, and I LOVE it. Every time I watch it I start smiling.

Phantom Ants

We have ants.

I didn't say we have an ant problem, because I am not sure it is a problem. Just a couple of ants here and there and a lot of little lonely guys making their way across the vast of my kitchen counter or bathroom floor.

The other day I came to the sink, and my favorite glass was sitting outside of the sink. Inside was the remnants of ginger ale, and about 10 ants. There were zero ants on the outside of the glass. How the heck did they get inside there?

Yesterday I was sitting at the dining room table working and one single ant crawled across the table...all by himself. How did he get up there?

The thing is I am not complaining. We could have an ant problem. We could put down a spoon with a hint of peanut butter on it, and come back to a whole community of ants...but that is not what is happening. Instead we have a random sampling of ants in a random sampling of our house.

The problem is since these visitors showed up about a week ago every time I clean them up or kill one, for the rest of the day I feel them. They are on me. One is crawling on my back. I feel one on my leg. I have asked Jonathan three times in the last week "Is there an ant on my neck?"...there never is. I feel them on my face too, but I am too embarrassed to ask. So even though we don't have an ant problem I have a different problem...phantom ants.

One of my favorite blogs, Zen Habits, has done it again...it has spoken words that have gone straight to my heart. I was reading an article about being passionate about your job. I am VERY fortunate because I do love love love my job, and I know that it is God's calling on my life right now for this season. I was just telling someone the other day that my job is not a job - it is a lifestyle...and I love it. However, I feel like I have had lots of conversations recently with people who aren't sure if they should move on or stick it out where they are out.

The World Needs You to Do What You Love

The greatest change happens because of people that are deeply passionate, and have a great love for the work they do.

If you want to make a difference in the world, the single most important thing you can do is consciously and deliberately choose to do work that you are passionate about.

No other choice can have a greater impact on the planet, or your life.

If you’re doing work that’s boring, you probably won’t make much of an impact. You might provide people with some amount of value. Enough to pay your rent, enough to get by. But you won’t be inciting change. And you certainly won’t be inspiring others.

If you’re doing boring work, chances are you do just enough to not get fired.

But if you do work that excites you, keeps you up at night, and fulfills you… you’ll do more. You’ll give yourself to it completely. You’ll put in extra time, more energy, more passion. Because it’s worth it. It’s satisfying.

At the end of the day you’ll think: “My time was well spent today.”

Ellen on American Idol

Ellen is very funny, and way more entertaining than Paula.
However, does Ellen know anything about music or singing.

What do you think? Is Ellen a good replacement or should they have kept looking?

I heart Elle Woods

I spend the evening with Elle Woods last night when I watched Legally Blonde the Musical at the Orange County Performing Arts Center last night. A little outing I threw together, because Ange was home for a week. We had so much fun, and I feel like even though I always have high expectations for those kinds of things I am always pleasantly surprised. You should definitely throw on your pink high heels and see it!

Two Weeks of Summer Camp...and nothing to show for it

At the beginning of August I spent two whole weeks at Summer Camp. Two weeks. 14 days. 14 fun filled days. 14 days filled with swimming, running, playing, eating and beaching. You wouldn't know all the fun I had during those two weeks...because through out those 14 days I took maybe 10 pictures.
However, here are my five favorites.

Human Dictionary

I an invented a word this morning.
By invented I mean it popped into my head this morning, and I am pretty sure I have never heard it before. So it could have already existed or I could have an invented a word this morning.

Are you ready for it?

Lopo (pronounced low-po): A low ponytail; a ponytail worn at the nape of the neck

I know.
Genius.

These are the kinds internal dialogs that I have morning as I get ready in silence while my husband sleeps peacefully.

Flying Solo

I have decided to give up my Sidekick for an iPhone. If you know me well - this is shocking news to you, because I really love my Sidekick and I really petitioned to get it back in the day. However, even thought my loyalty runs deep I am clearly seeing the pros to owning an iPhone. So...next month when my contract is up my husband has promised to enrich my life with a new phone. In anticipation of this I have been researching the apps that I can't live with out.

Here are a few on my list so far:
Amazon Kindle for iPhone
Walkee - Disneyland App
Rag Doll Blaster
Bird Watching App (Don't judge)

What are your recommendations and must haves?

Hello You!

Just received my Lucky Magazine in the mail with Kristen Bell on the cover.
Why is she so adorable? I just love her. I often think about the one day I will meet Kristen Bell, and then I know in that moment that it will be my goal to convince her in my one minute introduction how totally funny and fun and cute I am. And what an amazing BFF I would be. And then we will exchange phone numbers and take turns going to each other houses to watch Project Runway and eat popcorn - while we decide where we are going to lunch the next day. What? A girl can dream.

One day Kristen...one day.

Challenge: Cheeseburger Cake

There are few things in this world that my husband loves to the point of being passionate...but cheeseburgers is definitely one of them. I am trying to find the recipe for the best Cheeseburger Cake for Jonathan's birthday in February. Based on what I have found I am going to have to take the best elements of several different Cheeseburger Cakes and mix them to make the best Cheeseburger Cake ever. Here are the top 6 that I have found.

I better start practicing. I only have 6 months to get it perfect.
